Multi-currency Confusion (2014)
Since the days of the miniskirt, women’s bodies have played a wonderful game of chess with the body as political. This piece represents how one woman’s projection in the mind of a man is not another woman’s projection in the same mind. The currency of the female form can be confusing. This painting is highly inspired by the #Selfie culture where women dismember their breasts, buttocks and legs in order flirt and conquer male desire.
Acrylic on canvas with oil pastel and newspaper print.
