#Harambee63 – Mabatiphobia, Tetanus and other fears
Tetanus.
I have a morbid fear of corrugated iron sheets; “mabati.” Throw some rust in there and you are asking for a visit to an office with a couch. I think it comes from years of being warned by my grandmother to watch that I don’t get cut by the iron sheets that make up her outdoor kitchen; “kariiko.”
Then I had to get some into the exhibition.
The highlight of the day? Discovering that you can tear mabati like paper. Literally.
*Update: I have since been cut by mabati and had my tetanus shot. I’m still slightly afraid of mabati.
